What AsanaPals stores, and where.

Part 1 · Technical facts

The app

Deleting the app removes everything it stored. Because backup is off, nothing is restored on another phone.

Part 2 · Technical facts

This website

What the website collects

What you send through one of two forms, and, only if you allow it, analytics about your visit. Nothing else is collected while you browse.

The waitlist form, only if you tick its consent box:

your email address;
your yes or no answer to whether you would buy AsanaPals when it is on Google Play;
whether you asked to test AsanaPals before launch, and whether you have one of the first 100 early testing places;
the date and time you sent it, as the record of your consent.

Joining is free and is not a purchase or pre-order: we never ask for payment details, and your answer about buying does not oblige you to buy anything.

If you asked for early testing, we email you before anything happens. Google Play adds testers by the email address of their Google account, so we will ask which address to use. Nothing is shared with Google unless you reply and agree.

These are stored in a Cloudflare D1 database run by Cloudflare for the operator. Nothing on the website can read the list back. Your IP address is not stored. If saving fails, the site records a short technical note about the fault (which form and what went wrong, never your email or answers) so it can be fixed; Cloudflare keeps these notes for up to 3 days.

The questionnaire

If you send the questionnaire, we store:

the options you picked, and anything you typed in its one free-text box;
the two-letter code of the country your connection comes from, which Cloudflare works out for every request (for example IN or DE);
the date you sent it, without the time.

It does not ask for your name or email, and your IP address is not stored. Answers are not linked to the waitlist: keeping only the date, not the time, is how we avoid matching the two. Anything you type into the free-text box is stored as you typed it, so please leave out details that identify you. The answers sit in the same Cloudflare D1 database, and nothing on the website can read them back.

Bot check on the forms

To stop abuse, each form accepts only a few submissions a minute from the same connection. The count uses a one-way hash of your IP address, is kept for at most a minute, and is never stored with your answers or email.

The waitlist page and the last step of the questionnaire load Cloudflare Turnstile to check that a person, not a bot, is sending the form. Turnstile runs only there and processes technical signals from your browser for that check. Your email and your answers are never sent to it.

Analytics, only if you allow it

On your first visit the site asks whether it may use Google Analytics. Until you choose Allow, nothing is loaded from Google and no analytics cookie is set. No thanks, or ignoring the question, keeps it that way.

If you allow it, Google Analytics records:

the pages you view and how long you stay;
when you scroll most of the way down a page;
when you start or send one of the two forms, and which one, but never what you typed;
when you follow a link to another website, and which one;
when you open a file from the site, such as a font licence;
how you arrived, such as the site or campaign link you came from;
your device type, browser and approximate location, worked out by Google;
that you joined the waitlist, with your yes or no answer to whether you would buy it and whether you asked for early testing;
that you finished the questionnaire, with your purchase answer and your price range.

It never receives your email address, anything you type, or your other answers. Google states that Google Analytics 4 does not log or store IP addresses. Google signals and ad personalisation are switched off. Its cookies (named _ga and _ga_ followed by an ID) last up to 13 months.

You can change your mind at any time with Analytics settings at the bottom of every page. Choosing No thanks switches analytics off and removes its cookies. The site asks again after 13 months.

Cookies, storage and hosting

This website sets no cookies of its own. It remembers your analytics choice in your browser's local storage so it does not ask on every page. Google Analytics cookies are set only if you allow them. Apart from Turnstile on the two forms and Google Analytics if you allow it, fonts, images and video are served from this site itself, and there are no advertising requests. The site is hosted on Cloudflare, which necessarily sees your IP address and browser details in order to deliver the page.

Your data and your rights

This part is our reading of data protection law and our commitments to you. It is not a certification, and it is not legal advice.

Who is responsible

AsanaPals is operated by Vikas Sahani, who decides how any personal data sent through this website is used (the controller under the GDPR, the data fiduciary under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023). Privacy questions and requests go to asanapals@gmail.com. We aim to answer within 30 days.

Why we may hold your email

Your explicit, opt-in consent, given by ticking the box. The tick is separate from the yes or no answer, so answering is never treated as agreement to be contacted. You can withdraw consent with one email to asanapals@gmail.com.

We use it to count interest and to email you once when AsanaPals is available, plus at most a short note if the project changes direction or stops. We never sell, rent or share it, and we do not use it to train AI models.

Why we may hold your questionnaire answers

Your consent, given by choosing to send them. Every question is optional. We use the answers only to decide what AsanaPals builds and how it is priced. We never sell, rent or share them, and we do not use them to train AI models.

Why we may use analytics

Your consent, given by choosing Allow. We use analytics only to learn which pages help people, where interested visitors come from, and how many would buy AsanaPals. Google processes this data for us and may do so in the United States and other countries. Detailed analytics data is kept for no longer than 14 months. Withdrawing consent with Analytics settings stops any further collection.

Where it is stored and for how long

The database's primary location is in Western Europe, and Cloudflare may process data in other countries to run its network. Ask us which safeguards apply. We keep your entry until you have been told about the launch, until you ask us to delete it, or for 24 months without a launch, whichever comes first, and then delete it. Questionnaire answers are kept for up to 24 months from the date they were sent, and then deleted.

Your rights

Wherever you live, you can ask us to show you, correct or delete any data we hold about you, to stop using it, or to give it to you in a portable file. Email asanapals@gmail.com from the address concerned. There is no fee. You can also complain to your local data protection authority.

Questionnaire answers are not linked to you, so to find yours we need the date you sent them and what you wrote in the free-text box.

Children

This website is not intended for anyone under 18. If a child's email has reached us, write to asanapals@gmail.com and we will erase it.

Changes

If what we collect changes, this page is updated before the change goes live, and anyone who gave us an email is told. We will not quietly widen the use of data you already gave us.
